Refund and Cancellation Policy
Last updated: March 2026
We try to make this straightforward. No surprise rules, no small print that changes what the big print says.
1. Free trial
Every new account gets a 7-day free trial. No credit card required to start. You will not be charged anything during the trial period.
If you do not add a payment method before the trial ends, your account moves to a read-only state. You can still export your data. You will not lose anything automatically.
2. Monthly plans
- Cancel anytime from your account settings. No fees, no penalties.
- Cancellation is effective at the end of the current billing period. You keep full platform access until then.
- No partial refunds on monthly plans. If you cancel mid-month, the month you already paid for is not refunded.
3. Annual plans
Annual plans save you 2 months compared to paying month-to-month.
- Cancel anytime. You keep access through the end of your paid term.
- 30-day refund window: if you cancel within 30 days of your annual payment, you can request a refund. The refund is the annual fee minus the months already used, charged at the monthly rate.
- No refunds after 30 days from the payment date.
Example refund calculation
You pay for a Business annual plan ($149/mo x 12 = $1,788 at the annual rate of about $1,430). After 2 months you decide to cancel. The refund would be the annual fee minus 2 months at the monthly rate ($149 x 2 = $298). Refund: approximately $1,430 - $298 = $1,132.
Exact amounts depend on your specific plan rate and timing. We calculate this at the time of the request.
4. Upgrades and downgrades
- Upgrades take effect immediately. The cost difference is prorated for the remaining days in your billing period, so you only pay for what you use.
- Downgrades take effect at the start of the next billing period. You keep your current plan's features until then.
5. Firm tiers
The Firm and Firm Pro plans have a base fee plus a per-client charge. Here is how seat and client changes work:
- Adding clients: the per-client charge is prorated for the remaining days in the billing period. You pay only for the portion of the month the client was active.
- Removing clients: the reduction in client count takes effect at the start of the next billing period. The current period is not refunded for removed clients.
6. Your data after cancellation
After your account is cancelled or your paid access ends:
- Your data is retained for 90 days. You can log in and export your documents and extracted data at any time during that window.
- After 90 days, all your data is permanently and irreversibly deleted from our systems.
- If you need your data deleted before the 90-day window, contact us and we will process it within 10 business days.
We recommend exporting your data before you cancel. Our export tools support PDF and Excel formats.
7. How to request a refund
To request a refund, email support@invistiq.com with the subject line "Refund Request" and include your account email and the reason for your request.
We process all refund requests within 10 business days. Once approved, refunds are returned to the original payment method. Stripe's processing time (typically 5-10 business days) applies on top of that.
You can also cancel directly from the Settings page inside the platform. Cancellation through settings does not automatically trigger a refund. Refund requests must be sent by email.
